HIT HARVESTER is a Great program that Really works FAST!
But they have annoying pop-up windows.

Set your browser's home page to LINK WARS and everytime you visit them, they send a visitor to your page. They are one of the easiest services to use. We really like them but to get referrals you need to join "Clickbank" which we found was a waste of time.

With banner exchange services, if you put their banners on your site, they will put your banner on other sites. But don't count on getting that many hits this way. We used a free banner system and for 6,969 impressions (showings) we got just 42 visitors. If you are still interested though, here's one to try:

2. SEARCH ENGINES:

95% of Internet traffic originates at one of the 10 major search engines...If you're not listed, you might as well not even have a web site!
Choosing the most effective 'keywords' is one of the major keys to a successful web site submission.
Using a so-called search engine submission software that submits your site to 1,000 or more search engines could actually get your page deleted from the major search engines.
The best way is to visit the top search engines and directories yourself and submit your site to them individually, using their guidelines. This is how we got our main site dsBIZ.com listed with Yahoo.

3. WEB RINGS:
Another way to suppossedly build traffic to your web site is to join a Web Ring. We have had very little success with Web Rings.

4. FFA?
What does "FFA" stand for?
It's a "Free For All" system that uses simple indexes of sites organized into a few categories. As new sites are added to an FFA page, the oldest ones are deleted. Warning: if you list your site, you may receive hundreds of "thank you" emails with numerous sales pitches. But your site address WILL appear on hundreds of links pages for a short period of time. The secret to FFA isn't the links--it's the autoresponder emails that go out (a well written email can mean many referrals).
UPDATE: We have stopped using FFA listings due to many problems with email spamming!
